Sleep ypur way to success

Sleep is a vastly underrated commodity in western society. Our body was designed to run best on over eight hours sleep per night. Unfortunately the average person is running on six and a half to seven hours sleep. That puts us psychologically emotionally and physically behind the eight ball. We are simply not able to cope as well. We are emotionally more vulnerable, don't always think as clearly and don't have the staying power to perform at our peak for the long haul.

Many of us pride ourselves on how little sleep we can function on. Are we kidding ourselves? Are we actually sitting on a time bomb that could spell disaster over time.

When was the last time you got 8 hours or more of sleep for a week? Try it may change your long term future.

Interestingly my wife tells me that studies show that every hour of sleep before midnight is worth two hours after midnight. So this clock is not in our best interest!!  The guy in the picture with alarm clock may have a better option..............if that is eight pm.......................Turn off the TV!!

3 ideas to make your "to do" list more fun!!

Having a "to do" list is a really common thing and sometimes the beginning of the day gets to be a bit of a drag when you look at the list. With some simple strategies, we can have a mind shift that just might make it better.

  1. I have heard of people actually putting something that they have already completed from the previous day at the top of their list. That way they get immediate success at the start of the day and feel good.
  2. One I like to use personally is to put something that I like and is relatively easy on the top of the list. So like the previous idea I get a sensation of achievement early in the day.
  3. The more traditional way is to start the day the task you will find most difficult and have least desire to do and just get it out of the way. Then you are free to spend the rest of the day doing what you enjoy.
Doing whichever of these appeals to you or  suits your personality best can make all the difference to your day.

Enjoy!!

Less is more!!

Being seamless is not all its cracked up to be!

We put such store in being able to multi-task to be able engage with multiple people and tasks. We rush head on into our days with our "to do" list in our hand. Now there is nothing inherently wrong with a well managed to "do list". I wonder how many of us have,a well managed "to do" list.

Is the waking time in our in our day somewhat over subscribed? Do we have more activity than time?

Feeling like you are always chasing your tail? Always running late. Ever wondered why appointment at the doctors office gets later and later hour by hour most days.

What we lack is margin, Margin is the edge around a page that is not have writing or pictures on it. It means that one thing doesn't run into another. There is little margin on the writing on this white page it is somewhat seamless. However there is a border with the colourful border. That is margin!!

Well that is all very well on a piece of writing but what is that to do with doctors or me.

In the way we run our lives, we do not have enough gaps between our activities. Should anything not go to plan, then we begin to fall behind. Therefore we are always running to keep up or catch up. If we have planned to do less, allowing more time or margin between our activities. We would probably feel better, enjoy our lives more and ultimately perform our tasks better. In Fact Less is More
Create margin and win!!
